Dopo le vacanze pasquali, eccoci di ritorno con nuovi software! Oggi vi presentiamo aTunes, ottima alternativa open source ad iTunes. Il programma è scritto in java, quindi multi-piattaforma, utilizzabile sia su Windows che su Mac o Linux. Dotato di un’interfaccia grafica semplice e intuitiva, possiede molte funzioni utili e completamente automatiche, come il download dal web di diverse informazioni sul brano che stiamo ascoltando, dalle copertine degli album alla composizione degli stessi, passando per la storia personale ed artistica dei cantanti ed il testo integrale del pezzo. Permette di ascoltare le radio on-line e modificare le informazioni di ogni file musicale della propria collezione. Il lato negativo di  questo software è purtroppo la pesantezza sulla RAM (difficile scendere sotto i 50 MB occupati) e la velocità d’apertura, piuttosto bassa. Il progetto è comunque giovane e con le varie versioni migliorerà sicuramente.

After the easter holidays break, here we go again with pieces of new software. aTunes is an open source iTunes alternative. aTunes recently upgraded its version to 1.7.0 which includes radio support.  aTunes is able to play mp3, OGG, WMA, WAV, mp4, and FLAC files.  You can also rip and burn audio CD’s with this application. aTunes integrates with AudioScrobbler and Last.fm to add the songs played to your profile.  If you are looking for a music player similar to iTunes this is a good alternative. aTunes is available in multiple languages.
